A Perfect Proposal at the NC Arboretum: Wes & Mikayla
Five years to the day, Mikayla thought she was just having another anniversary photoshoot with Wes. Little did she know, Wes had been orchestrating a beautiful surprise for months, moving mountains (and locations!) to make this moment absolutely perfect. As a photographer, I've seen a lot of love stories, but the sheer joy and meticulous planning behind Wes and Mikayla's engagement truly stood out.
Our secret mission began at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. We started with what Mikayla believed was a routine anniversary session, capturing their sweet connection amidst the stunning backdrop of the estate. The goal was to keep the surprise completely under wraps, and Mikayla was none the wiser, simply enjoying their special day. Wes played it cool, and our back-and-forth messages over the past few months had certainly paid off in keeping this secret safe!
After a lovely time at Biltmore, we made our way to the North Carolina Arboretum. This was the real destination, the culmination of Wes's thoughtful planning. As we walked through the picturesque gardens, the anticipation was palpable (for Wes and me, at least!). And then, she saw it.
A large, unmistakable "Marry Me" sign was strategically placed, waiting for Mikayla's arrival. The moment she laid eyes on it, a radiant smile bloomed across her face, a smile that spoke volumes about her happiness and surprise. It was a beautiful, unfiltered expression of pure joy, and it was absolutely unforgettable.
Capturing such a significant milestone is always an honor, but witnessing the culmination of Wes's dedication and Mikayla's overwhelming joy made this proposal extra special. Congratulations, Wes and Mikayla! May your life together be as beautiful and full of happy surprises as your proposal day.
